Pray

Kat from over at Inspired to Action had this amazing post today.
It comes on the heels of a conversation I had with J & B yesterday.  God's timing is always so cool.

I was talking to them about how I pray for them... and that I had recently come to realize that if ... and it's a BIG IF... but IF I had to choose between them being happy, healthy & having all their dreams come true... OR them following Jesus, I would choose for them to follow Jesus.  That is not to say I want my children to be miserable... but I know that true joy comes from Christ - not from the things of this world and especially not the things the world will tell them will make them happy.
Of course I pray for them to be safe, for God to bless them and guard & protect them in all ways (physical, spiritual & emotional).  But my most fervent prayers for them are to follow Christ...sacrificially...completely... sold out to Jesus with every beat of their hearts.  The way that I want to live... the way I struggle to live.

We clicked through from Kat's blog and watched this video of this song... it took my breath away at times.  Watch it intentionally... THINK... FEEL the depths of the words ringing into your heart.  I so hope that someone prays this way for me.

And the beginning of Francis Chan's sermon after the song has me intrigued... I'm going to see if I can scout up a link to that as well to watch/listen.  If I can find it I will try to come back and add it here later.

UPDATE: Found it!  Go here and scroll to the sermon "Power" by Francis on 7/6/08.  We are listening to it while J does her Algebra test (at her request).

Blessings on the journey,

Better

Today was the first Sunday since Mother's Day (5/8) that I've gotten to be in worship service.  I didn't realize how badly I'd missed it ... until I started singing.. and my heart wanted to burst with joy at be able to sing praises to my Lord with my church family.

This song really sums it up.

He Loves Me

I've been hearing this song by Sidewalk Prophets on the radio lately and the reality of how loved I am by God... when I don't deserve anything good ...is beyond amazing.  This morning I thought I'd share this video.  The lyrics are fabulous.

Anniversary and a song

Last week Steve and I celebrated our anniversary.  We've been married 15 years and it just keeps getting better.

He is my best friend and loves me more than I can believe is possible and definitely better than I deserve.  Everyday I thank God for sending me the perfect husband for me...one who honors me, believes in me, trust me and inspires me to be better than I think I can be.  I am beyond blessed.
We have this sort of running joke where I tell him how thankful I am for all he does for me and he tells me that I'm just easy to please.  This is because he never sees that all he does, each day, is really anything special or "more" than the ordinary.  I see things... I KNOW that I am well treated by this man who shares my life.  I think he does an amazing job of living the scriptures that tell a husband to love his wife and care for her the way Christ does the church.
And he will comment and tell me that I give him too much credit. :-)  It's just the way he is.

A few years ago he downloaded a song for me as a present.  He is not one to be overly demonstrative and wordy and the song brought me to tears in seconds.

Any doubt that he is awesome?

I didn't think so either. :-)

Glory Baby ~ Watermark

Loss often leaves us with no words. One of the most difficult is the loss of a longed-for, prayed-for and loved-beyond-words child. I stumbled on this song this morning and it just seemed that I should share it.

Awesome Christmas Song

I heard this song for the first time last year and this year was thrilled to find a CD from the group who released it "Downhere".  The song is called How Many Kings and I find it really makes a great point if you listen carefully to the words.
This isn't the greatest clip - but it was all I could find at the moment. I hope it blesses someone.

A new favorite

Steve sent me a link to this song a while back and I instantly loved it. Now the album is released and I can't wait to get it for our collection. God has certainly blessed His servants with the ability to touch hearts.
